Photographing butterflies has always proved to be a problem. You creep up on the little buggers and just as you frame and focus, the bugger flies off.
I’ve heard that some photographers catch their prey and then put them into a fridge. This is supposed to make them almost dormant and therefore they will just sit there waiting for your shot.
Not sure I agree with this, so will have to continue the ‘sneak up on them’ approach.
This one must have been pooped and stood still. It’s a Speckled Wood by the way.
