Flutterbyes

Photographing butterflies has always proved to be a problem. You creep up on the little buggers and just as you frame and focus, the bugger flies off. I’ve heard that some photographers catch their prey and then put them into a fridge. This is supposed to make them almost dormant and therefore they will just sit there waiting for your shot. Not sure I agree with this, so will have to continue the ‘sneak…


Now we’re inside.

Now the outside pointing on the dairy is finished, our attention turns to the inside. This is before we started removing most of the old soft concrete . and after about an hours de-pointing. A long way to go yet, but at least I can work inside now when it’s pissing down outside.


Walking the Policies

Up at semi Sparrows fart this morning to give the doggie a full walk around the Policies. Is that view gorgeous or what? When we have a ball Rubes is completely self contained – and by that I mean no lead or rope attached. Flowering Yarrow in now abundant….. ….as is Red Valerian. Nearly finished.

The pointing on the Dairy seems to have been going on for weeks and weeks and indeed it has. But the end is almost here We had to take off the roof sofit to cement the stone underneath it. Having taken of the rendering on the left hand side, the rock underneath consisted mostly of rubble…… …this was all taken out and larger cut pieces were set in place. This now just leaves filling…
