One of those sessions where Weatherpro HD said there would be a window of clear skies for about an hour. With the lack of observing time recently, I’m starting to exploit even the shortest of observing opportunities that are on offer at the moment.

NGC7243, Caldwell 16
In the Altair Astro 250mm, 40mm Plossl, 51 X, 52′, West is to the 10 O’Clock.
Initial first impression is of a cluster of stars forming a curved ‘E’ shape to the S/W, which is mirrored in part with the dividing line running in a NW/SE alignment. The stars that make up this shape are mainly 9.0 to 10.0 mag and are all contained in a 20 arc/min circle.
NGC7479, Caldwell 44
Tried searching for this for 10 mins, but no amount of averted vision pulled this out of the murk, which had started to move in. Not Found.
