Flickr Pola Meet

Had a blinder of a trip at Saturday’s Flickr Pola trundle in the ‘Big Smoke’. Wasn’t quite sure how the day was going to go.  With a new camera and a sack full of film that I’m completely unfamiliar with, I wasn’t sure if I would end up with the day with a pile of drink coasters. The PX100 Cool seems to work no matter what you point the camera at. The only question…

Do you think I've packed enough film?

Right, I’m packed, but am I taking enough film? This weekend Pola trundle in the Big Smoke is here. Really looking forward to giving the SX70 Sonar a proper workout and hope I might actually learn something. The good news is that the Button which appears to have died, appears to be working again, so I’m risking a pack of PX100 and see how she goes. Just hope the M25 doesn’t go tits up…

Sunspots 1482, 1484, 1486

Finally had some time to spend on some data that we took on the afternoon of the 21st. Taken through the  250mm RC using the Nikon D5100 DSLR. We took a couple of minutes of video, but find that Registax 6 won’t load any more than about 1450 tif files for processing.  Of the 3000 odd frames takes, I chose frames 1000 thru to 2399 and processed these. As with my terrestrial processing, you…

DMK Weekend

My long awaited DMK21AUG618 webcam arrived on Friday. This probably explains why most of the weekend there was either total or partial cloud cover. Got all the drivers and software loaded on the pooter, plugged it all in and Bingo – everything works. The USB 2 hub on the pier didn’t like it when I tried to run the camera off it – saying there wasn’t enough power- but just plugging in the power…

Farewell PX600, Welcome PX100 Cool

Six packs of IP film turned up from the Netherlands this morning. All in preparation for next weeks Pola Flickr trundle in the Big Smoke. Trying not to blow more than a couple of packs between now and then otherwise I’ll look like a tit with no film.

Sunspot 1476

Well I think I’m starting to make progress. I’ve been trying to get a converter that will turn the .MOV files outputted from the Nikon 5100, into an AVI format that can be read by Registax. Despite lots of forum reading and various questions asked, every software converter I’ve tried has failed. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the fact I’m using an iMac with Registax running in a…
