Our last day in Teignmouth started off a little cloudy, but at least it wasn’t snowing like yesterday. The weather forecast was looking up, so we decided to investigate Newton Abbot – which gave us another excuse to use the train as well as take our fourth taxi ride of the weekend.
Waiting for the train to Newton Abbot – and the Sun is coming out.
Not quite sure why the Happy Travellers look none too happy 🙂
Getting a little creative while crossing over the tracks.
The OS map indicated that a walk by the river would be nice, but in order to get to it, we have to pass through an Industrial estate, with lots of lovely decay.
Having been chased by a hooded figure in black we emerged into Newton Abbot’s version of Salford Quays, with its Annika Rice bridge and a remodelled quay – Town Quay to be precise.
They’ve obviously done a lot of regeneration around the area with some added walks and wildlife pockets of woodland.
The trip back to Teignmouth and Taxi number Five back to the hotel of the weekend.
Our last meal at the Ness….AND someone was sitting in our favourite chairs – Do you know who we are?
After our Sixth and final taxi back to the station, we caught the train back home.
At lest we managed to get reserved seats on the way back home and by the look of it, our happy travellers look like they had a good weekend away.
As the train didn’t travel any further than Plymouth, we had to transfer to a bus – here we are crossing the border back into Cornwall.
The coach dropped us at St Austell station for the very short hop back to Redruth ….and our last train journey of the weekend.
Sawtid. Home again and a successful trip for the new suitcase.
